Reports to SNIP Clinic Manager and Veterinarians. Shifts are normally weekdays, 8-10 hours per day, but some weekend hours may be required. Ability to lift 50 pounds and work standing on tile floors for extended periods of time required. Maintenance, sanitation and cleanliness of surgical equipment, tools and environmentĮxperience helpful but willing to train the right person.Preparing animals for surgery and post-operative care.The principal purpose of this position is provide surgical support for the veterinarians. Efficient data entry skills are expected. Prior animal handling skills for a variety of companion animals including but not limited to strong, large canines and untamed felines are preferred. Team work, collaboration and strong communication skills are a must. They must have a passion for animals and a strong interest in animal welfare. The Humane Animal Welfare Society of Waukesha County, Wisconsin (HAWS) is seeking dedicated full time and part time veterinary assistants to join the Spay/Neuter (SNIP) Clinic team. Questions? Please call the shelter to leave a message for the Friends of HAWS or email. Attendance at these meetings is not mandatory to become involved in the various activities, but in order to maintain active status members are asked to attend at least 4 meetings per year (out of 11), and work a minimum of eight direct participation hours at Friends events. Meetings are held at the HAWS main facility in Waukesha on the second Wednesday of each month, at 6:30pm.
